The requirements of en71-1 are also applicable to family trampolines, but do not include the following relevant requirements of en71-1: edges, sharp points, protruding parts and toys accessible to children. However, the above four requirements of en71-1 also apply to the use of trampolines by children under 36 months of age.

CEN Member States recently voted to adopt the new safety standard en71-14:2014 for household trampolines, which stipulates the requirements and test methods for household trampolines and their entrance equipment and fences for one person on indoor or outdoor ground, but does not include the following equipment: trampolines used as sports equipment are covered in en13219 standard; Floating inflatable trampoline, covered in en15649 series standards; Trampolines used in public amusement parks; Inclined cushion trampoline; Inflatable Bouncer; Fitness trampoline, including medical trampoline; Trampoline with other features (such as tent, basketball frame); A family trampoline buried on the ground. It is understood that the new standard divides trampolines into three categories: small, medium and large (see Table 1), and puts forward different requirements for different types of trampolines. For example, indoor small trampolines should be equipped with anti-skid angles; Medium and large trampolines should be equipped with fences rather than handrails.

In addition, other general requirements of the standard include: the minimum height of the fence; Durability of the outermost materials of the frame cushion system and fence materials; Danger of fingers, head, neck and feet, similar to the requirements in en71-8; Danger of pinching and crushing of suspension system; Impact resistance of frame gasket and suspension system; Protection of struts and handrails; Strength of different parts of trampoline, including fence, frame, fixed parts between gasket and frame, entrance equipment, cushion and suspension system; Stability.

The requirements of en71-1 are also applicable to family trampolines, but do not include the following relevant requirements of en71-1: edges, sharp points, protruding parts and toys accessible to children. However, the above four requirements of en71-1 also apply to the use of trampolines by children under 36 months of age.
